Welcome to The Chain Effect. We are building a network through empowered stories - a simple conversation that we hope send ripples across a community of Tres J adorenees'. Our goal is to spark connectivity through conversation, invite curiosity and celebrate confidence. We are so delighted to share Shannon's story with you all.
JJJ: Let's start with a little intro Shannon.
Shannon: My name is Shannon (you can call me Shan), and I'm originally from Huntington Beach, California.
JJJ: We all have our 9-to-5s. What's your passion project or hobby that keeps you busy?

Shannon: Outside of my 9-5, I LOVE musical theatre, sailing, yoga, reading and cooking. I actually worked professionally in musical theatre for years, and it's still something I have immense respect and passion for!
JJJ: One of our hopes for Tres J, is for your Tres J piece to help empower you to take on challenges you haven't tried before. What challenge is your Tres J piece empowering you to take on?
Shannon: It's empowering me to be bold in my choices and to be strong in the decisions that I make.

JJJ: Tell us a little more about you. What brings you joy?
Shannon: Honestly, people bring me joy. I love connection, community, and building people up.

JJJ: And what's a piece of advice you might want to give someone who is looking to build new community?
Shannon: Try to let go of any limiting or negative thoughts. Assume positive intention - who wouldn't want to connect with you? :)
JJJ: Some of our best friendships and relationships are formed through serendipitous moments. How does serendipity play a role in your life?
Shannon: I'm a firm believer in the cliché: everything happens for a reason, so I'd say serendipity plays a large role in my life. You may not know why something is happening or why someone is placed in your life, but the reason is always revealed in due time.
JJJ: What is an underrated or surprising life hack?
Shannon: This is trivial, but you can curl your hair using fuzzy socks and it takes 2 minutes. It doesn't require heat instead of 30 minutes with heat. I swear by it!
JJJ: What is the title of the current chapter you are in?
Shannon: Finding Shan
JJJ: Name 3 things you absolutely love / absolutely hate.
Shannon: Love: Coffee in the AM, Vino in the PM | A good book | Nothing to do on Sunday but watch football
Hate: Cloudy days | Sunday Scaries | Missing my people and not knowing our next reunion

JJJ: Name an artist you are currently loving.
Shannon: Ella Langley is really speaking to me...as someone who has consistently prioritized career and travel, her song "Weren't For The Wind" really hits home.
JJJ: If your favorite Tres J piece was a dessert, what would it be and why?
Shannon: Okay...not a dessert but my fave is the orange/pink combo for Tres J's 'Disco Nap Huggies' as they remind me of a NYC summer aperol spritz.

JJJ: Let's hear your current obsessions.
Shannon: Currently on repeat: "Weren't For The Wind" by Ella Langley
Beauty product: Saie's liquid blush in the shade 'spicy'
Dish recipe: My roasted sweet potatoes
Daily ritual: Take my daily vitamins and go to yoga!
